One day, I'll get back to Denver and hopefully get to re-evaluate Dazbog. I think this review suffered from some early blogging coffee enthusiasm on my part. I'd really like to test their espresso. I have a feeling I wouldn't be nearly as generous now as I was then.

actually: no offense to anyone, but Dazbog is a dark roast and I think your comments are pretty much straight on for the evaluation. I live in Denver, used their coffee at a shop, and I honestly don't know anyone that likes it??? They sell well so they must have a following, but there are definitely better brews out there, even fresh.

I'm sure you're right. I definitely try not to assume too much about a business by their airport branch. I would certainly expect the other branches to be better than that one. I haven't been back to Denver for a while, but hopefully one day I'll have a chance to test out my theory.

I work at Dazbog on 104th and Huron, and I love it. I do suggest that you try one of our branch stores, because my store would have never served you old brewed Sumatra Mandheling. We brew fresh coffee every 1 1/2 hours. And I'm very glad you enjoyed our coffee though, please try one again, non-airport. ;-)

Dazbog is a good coffee, but my personal fave is their hot chocolate
They have a little shop in the University of Colorado at CO Springs
I'm addicted to their white hot chocolate

I felt compelled to update my earlier comments about The Coffee People, based on what turned up in my Kean Coffee research. It turns out the reason all those Diedrich Coffee stores became empty was because there was a mass sell-off, in Denver apparently to Dazbog, but elsewhere mostly to Starbucks. This also included all of The Coffee People locations around Portland except PDX. Ironically, the only places in PDX are now The Coffee People and Starbucks. How very strange.
